Carey and his team work with IBM’s infrastructure services clients to improve business outcomes with integrated and agile hybrid cloud service delivery models.
Carey has held a variety of general management, sales, and service delivery leadership positions with IBM in locations across Canada, working with clients in the financial services, government, healthcare, telecommunications and commercial sectors. Carey’s prior executive roles include Vice President, Enterprise & Commercial; Vice President, Financial Services, working with the country’s major banks and insurance companies; national sales and service delivery leadership roles in Global Technology Services; General Manager, IBM Global Financing, leading IBM’s leasing and commercial financing business in Canada; and Director of Planning, leading the Finance planning and budgets functions for IBM Canada. Carey began his IBM career in Western Canada, with assignments in Winnipeg, Vancouver, and Edmonton.
Carey represents IBM on the Board of Directors of the Information Technology Association of Canada (ITAC), Canada’s national ICT business association championing the development of a robust and sustainable digital economy in Canada.
Carey served on the National Board of Directors of Junior Achievement of Canada from 2000 - 2009, including a 2 year term as Chair, and was recognized in 2013 with a Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal for service to Junior Achievement. He served on the 2015 United Way Toronto / York Region Campaign Cabinet as Chair, Technology and continues as a United Way TYR volunteer.
Carey holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Hons.) Degree from the University of Manitoba.
