IT resources with rare and specialized skills are required to engineer the technology of this revolutionary innovation to farming. The client was having difficulty in finding the talent locally due to an acute scarcity of IT talent capable of executing such a vision. Knowing this innovation could save farmers in fuel, labor, and operational costs, DOT approached ISM Canada for help in obtaining the right human resources.
Working together with DOT, ISM Canada identified the best candidates with the right skill sets – a team consisting of a Project Manager, Application Developers (Microsoft .Net) and an Azure expert (Architecture). ISM Canada continues to invest deeply in its unique skillsets and talented personnel to ensure ISM Canada can meet the changing needs of clients in the ever-changing landscape of technology.
ISM Canada was able to place resources to supplement the technical breadth and depth of DOT’s product team. With the support of ISM Canada, DOT was able to overachieve on the milestones and targets in only 9 months. The DOT autonomous seeder will reduce labor costs and the capital cost of new equipment for farmers. With simplified, secure, cloud-based data storage and standardization of power platforms, the final product will ease the workload of farmers, by helping to automate farming with precision. Going forward, DOT has decided to partner with ISM Canada to operationalize their IT systems and cloud applications.
