A swift migration

Recently, a provincial government agency engaged with ISM Canada (ISM) to implement their migration to Office 365. The customer was operating their internal messaging and email systems on Microsoft Exchange 2010 for over 150 employees throughout Saskatchewan. They needed a more flexible and unified communication toolset that enabled employees to communicate wherever and whenever their business demanded it.

ISM’s team of industry experts guided the customer through the entire process, using a structured Office 365 migration process that has been established and proven through many successful customer migrations.

Plan.

ISM worked with the customer to establish a governance framework to guide and inform the entire implementation. A communication plan was established to set standards and expectations for communication between ISM and the customer. ISM also performed a thorough needs assessment to ensure the solution delivered met all of the customer’s needs.

Prepare.

‍ ISM’s preparation included a readiness assessment of customer infrastructure, including technical and organizational capabilities and considerations along with a full network discovery. ISM also provided user training before deployment to encourage employee engagement and successful adoption.

Deploy.‍

ISM implemented the entire deployment process for Office 365 migration, including Exchange Online, Skype for Business Online, and Azure AD Connect. The deployment included federation of the customer’s on-premises Active Directory environment with Azure AD and Office 365, enabling the customer to leverage their existing investment in on-premises technology.

Migrate.

ISM migrated mailboxes from on-premises to Exchange Online using a secure, automated migration solution that provided a smooth and secure migration process and enabled users to start using the new solution immediately without significant interruption to their business.

Support.

ISM continued working with the customer after the migration. Additional training was provided to end-user support for devices and Office apps. ISM also assisted in post-migration monitoring and management of the Office 365 environment to ensure a successful migration and confirm that the solution met all of the customer’s needs.

ISM used Office 365 to provide a reliable and easy-to-manage communications solution for the customer that enables their employees to interact with each other effectively and their customers. The customer has better communications, more satisfied customers, and a more agile and capable business.
