‍Saskatchewan Growth Plan

Fuelled by Technology and Innovation

In 2020, the Government of Saskatchewan launched its 10-year Growth Plan, a detailed strategy designed to build a strong economy, stronger communities, and a better quality of life for the people of Saskatchewan.
By 2030, the province aims to grow the population to 1.4 million people, create 100,000 new jobs, increase exports by 50 percent, and invest $30 billion in infrastructure. The plan calls for tripling the growth of Saskatchewan’s technology sector, calling technology and innovation a “catalyst for growth in our core economic sectors.” I couldn’t agree more!

Through continued investments in technology, innovation, and jobs, ISM Canada will continue to support the local economy to ensure that Saskatchewan, its people and communities continue to thrive and grow. Below are examples of how ISM Canada is using technology and innovation to provide our support:

  1. Develop the labour force: As one of Canada’s Top 100 Employers, ISM Canada is the largest IT solutions company and the top technology employer in Saskatchewan. Our teams benefit from the support, resources and partnership of leading technology organizations including our parent company, Kyndryl.
  2. Grow the economy through innovation and technology: Working with the Government of Saskatchewan, we have modernized government applications and systems to improve services for the people of Saskatchewan. In addition to its IBM and Watson certifications, ISM recently achieved the Microsoft Gold Data Analytics Competency and offers best-in-class analytics capabilities that include foundation data services, business intelligence, spatial, predictive, and cognitive (AI).
  3. Grow the population: Our company attracts talented newcomers and new graduates to the province through job offers and recruitment. Driving innovation through education, we partner with Saskatchewan-based education programs and national research organizations such as NSERC and Mitacs that fund local student researchers by creating jobs in their chosen field of study.
  4. Build strong communities and support local businesses: We enjoy robust partnerships with local IT companies, based on mutual respect and trust. Our corporate sponsorship program provides funding to education as well as community initiatives such as Eden Care Communities Intergenerational Day in Regina and the Annual Eden Care Gala.

In the face of current economic challenges, the Growth Plan may seem ambitious. But let’s not forget that Saskatchewan has a history of working together in challenging times – for the benefit of all. I firmly believe that this cooperative spirit will fuel the positive changes needed to secure a bright economic and social future for our province.

As a proudly Saskatchewan-based company, it’s what we believe as ISMers, too: better together, stronger together. In cooperation with our partners, we stand ready to take on the challenges of what lies ahead with ground-breaking technology and innovation.

By embarking on this ambitious path, the Saskatchewan Growth Plan will most certainly create new opportunities for our young people, attract newcomers from around the world, and give the people of Saskatchewan a better quality of life.
